CHINESE STUDY
Professional Development for Teachers of Chinese (Native Speakers of Chinese) in China 2009-2010
Purpose: To help native speakers of Chinese, who teach Chinese in schools, to have the opportunity to upgrade their knowledge and skills of teaching Chinese as a second language.
When: 19 December, 2009 - 16 January 2010
Where: Beijing, China Host: Beijing Language and Culture University
Eligibility: NZ citizen or NZ Permanent Resident; under 60 years old; first language is Chinese; healthy; teachers of Chinese at schools which are on the Ministry of Education list ; and have not taken part in PD organized by Hanban in China in the past five years.
You are responsible for:
- Airfare return from your home town to Beijing;
- Insurance;
- Visa fee;
- Extra meal costs above the allowance;
- Transfer from airport, NZ and China.
Hanban (the Office of the Chinese Language Council International) is responsible for:
- Tuition;
- Textbooks;
- Accommodation in Beijing during the training programme;
- A small living allowance.
Participants should allow a minimum of $500 for personal expenses.
